Skydiggers Leave Halifax Audience Breathless

The Skydiggers' set was preceded by a compelling performance from local Halifax band Pillow Fite, whose alt-folk sound deftly integrated sensitive, heartfelt lyrics with memorable alt-rock instrumentals and folk-infused ballads, yielding a musical experience that was both captivating and emotionally impactful.
Formed by Art Ross (they/them) and Aaron Green (he/him), the band boasts a reputation that extends beyond local circles, having performed for international audiences.
Formed by Andy Maize and Josh Finlayson, Skydiggers is a Canadian roots rock band from Toronto. Since 1990, they have released 19 albums/EPs and have had a number of singles that have appeared on the Canadian charts. Their most successful album is Restless, released in 1992. The band has undergone a few changes in members and has appeared under various record labels throughout their decades-long presence.
The present members of this renowned Canadian band are the two founding members Andy Maize and Josh Finlayson, Ron Macey, Michael Johnston, Noel Webb, and Jessy Bell Smith. Notably, Josh Finlayson and Andy Maize have also collaborated on a side project, Finlayson/Maize, and released their album Dark Hollow under this name.
The legendary Canadian band captivated the audience by sharing many notable compositions from their songbook, encompassing a musical opus that spans multiple decades, while also sharing new and fresh music from their latest release, Dreams & Second Chances. Released on May 9, 2025, the latest recording preceded a spring tour.
